James is a highly skilled European vehicle technician with over 11 years of experience working across leading brands including Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda.
He is Porsche Bronze Certified, with Silver certification in progress, and has built his career within high-performance and dealership environments where precision, accuracy and efficiency are critical.
James specialises in advanced diagnostics and complex repairs, including engine and gearbox rebuilds, auto-electrical systems and CANBUS/LINBUS/FlexRay diagnostics. His experience extends across Porsche’s full model range — including 911 (GT2, GT3, GT4), Cayenne, Macan, Panamera and more — as well as high-performance Mercedes-Benz vehicles including AMG platforms.
During his time with Porsche, James worked within the official partner network and was selected to assist in international operations, including leading a team to complete repairs and servicing on 30 vehicles within a tight timeframe. He has also worked in high-pressure environments such as endurance racing support, reinforcing his ability to perform at an elite level.
Known for his diagnostic ability, attention to detail and strong work ethic, James consistently delivered at 100% production levels and has been recognised for performance and reliability throughout his career.

Gabriel - European Automotive Technician
From the French Riviera to Brisvegas.Gabriel earned his BTS in Nice, then worked at Mercedes-Benz Cannes and Jaguar Land Rover Cannes on the French Riviera. Now he brings that international dealership experience to European cars in Enoggera, including Jaguar and Land Rover. The French Riviera is one of Europe’s most prestigious car markets, and Gabriel spent his dealership years there looking after premium, late-model vehicles.
Gabriel Carlier brings international European dealership experience, strong diagnostic skills and a genuine passion for automotive engineering to the North Star Motors team.
Originally trained in France, Gabriel completed an Advanced Technician Diploma (BTS) in Automotive Maintenance at the Institut de Formation Automobile de Nice, developing a strong foundation in vehicle diagnostics, automotive technology and manufacturer-standard repair procedures.
Gabriel began his European dealership career with Mercedes-Benz Cannes, where he developed experience in advanced diagnostics, preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs while working to strict manufacturer quality-control standards.
He then joined Jaguar Land Rover Cannes, further developing his knowledge of luxury European vehicles across engine, transmission and suspension systems. His experience there also expanded into hybrid and electric vehicle technology, while working with manufacturer-approved diagnostic and repair processes.
Gabriel’s technical strengths include electrical diagnosis, engine rebuilds, mechanical repairs and experience across diesel, petrol, 4WD and electric vehicles. His background also includes roadworthy inspection knowledge and hands-on experience with suspension, chassis and engine replacement work.
